Seasons Change [March 13, 2007]
Looking at the last post I've made...it's been one year and twenty-two days since I've last logged on.  A lot can change in that amount of time.  Fortunately, it's a breath of fresh air to see some of my friends still update here.

I've resorted to using myspace as my main source of contact with the outside world, and it's worked out pretty well.  I've reconnected with childhood friends, college buddies, family and co-workers, and in turn have maintained some amazing friendships.  But once in awhile, as writing is and always was my passion, I find myself with something I should make note of or share and think "livejournal".

Anyway, maybe I'll ease my way back into things here...but we'll see.

Send me a note if you're still around here or still care.

What's new with me? [February 19, 2006]
[ mood | accomplished ]

Holy shit, I'm updating. I miss keeping in touch with y'all.  I've finally put my Hawaii pictures online, so hook me up with your email address if you'd like me to send the album to you.

I'm really starting to like my new job.  I've almost been there 90 days, at which point I will officially be considered an employee.  I guess they have the right to try you out for three months before deciding if they want to keep you, haha.  But, from what I hear, they like me there.  I can't imagine why, considering I work with mostly guys.  The woman who is the finance manager is really fond of me, though, and that's an important person to have on my side.  So yeah, it's cool and the people are nice.

Kenny and his friends all bought snowmobiles this winter, and since I liked it so much, and since it's really too hard to ride with two people on one sled, he bought me one so we could ride together.  Unfortunately, it has only snowed enough to ride like 3 or 4 times, which sucks.  We're going to do some work on them this summer and spif them up for next winter.  We're still contemplating taking a trip to upstate New York.  I guess there's a decent amount of snow on the trails up there.  So it's a possibility.

I went to the Rascal Flatts concert with Jess, Erin and Crystal from high school.  It was a blast, and they were really awesome in concert.  Plus, we had incredible seats.  I got some really good pictures to post.  I've been hanging out with the girls a lot lately, and it's nice to actually have some girlfriends.  We all went out downtown last night for my birthday, and they got me so wasted, haha.  Kenny's brother and friends and Roz came out with us, but not Kenny.  He hit his head at work on Monday and had to get 30 stitches in his forehead.  The poor kid.  He just got his stitches out and his eye was still all swollen and bruised, so he stayed home.  I can't believe I'm freakin' 25 years old.  Shit, I'm old!

My dad and Donna, mom and Bob and Brian and Kelly went out with us to birthday breakfast at Bickford's this morning.  It was nice.  My dad bought me a jewelry armoire and my mom gave me a pretty Thomas Kinkade picture and a Keith Urban CD.  Right now, I'm watching the Daytona 500 while Kenny's sleeping.  He hates NASCAR.  The race really just hasn't been the same to me since Dale Earnhardt died.  It's really weird that all the guys are so young now.  Not too many of the old timers left.  The commercials are pretty hilarious.  I think I've laughed out loud at three of them already.  Kenny and I didn't do too much for Valentine's Day this year because of his head.  But, he bought me a huge bottle of wine, a 2lb. box of chocolates, and a stuffed monkey that's wearing boxing gloves and shorts and has a towel around his neck that says "You're a Knockout."  It's so cute.  We got Outback carside take-out and drank wine together.  It was nice.  It's our 2 year anniversary tomorrow.  I'm going to make a nice pot roast dinner.  Maybe light some candles and break out the wine again?  Haha, the two of us are wicked winos lately.  I love it.

Well, I think that's quite and update for everyone to try and follow for now.  If I think of more later, I'll make another update.

I know I've been a really bad LiveJournal buddy, but I swear my computer is almost fixed. I can't wait to get it back! It needed a new hard drive because I got so many viruses before that they ate my whole computer. And, since my new job is working for a defence company, they have restrictions on our computers at work. LiveJournal is considered a "Chat" site, and so is Myspace. I can't get on either site, which really sucks and I'm lost without them. I promise I'll be back soon!!

I'm still alive. [November 21, 2005]
Wow, a lot happened while I was away. It just took me an hour to catch up on everyone's entries.

Hawaii was AWESOME! The most beautiful place, but it's good to be home too.

Congrats Jayde and Geoff! Congrats Kimi!

I think it's about time to change my Halloween user icon.

LOTS of pictures to post and stories to come.

I guess winter's here? [October 28, 2005]
Ehh, the girls at work keep bringing in cookies and cupcakes and I'm trying to stay thin for Hawaii. I had my teeth cleaned this morning and the lady scraped half of my gums off, then proceeded to floss the other half off. They hurt.

Kenny decided to go into work early this morning becase he wants to get a bunch of things done before we go on vacation. The poor kid works so hard. So, we got up early and he took me to breakfast at 6am. It was cute. It was pitch dark outside, too. I can't wait for daylight savings time, but then again, I hate when it's dark out at like 4 in the afternoon. Guess you can't win 'em all. Speaking of, I feel like I just woke up one day and it was cold. What the hell. It's like 30 degrees outside. A little transition would have been nice!

I finally got around to half-carving my pumpkin last night. I didn't carve a face or anything, I just cut off the top and took all the shit out so I can bake the seeds tonight.

My mom got her boob job yesterday!!! I haven't seen her yet, but we're going over there for dinner tonight. She says she is feeling great. At least I'll get to have all of her bras and shirts that won't fit her anymore, hahahah.

Craziness [October 26, 2005]
I've been so busy I haven't had any time to update. I still haven't carved my pumpkin! I want to bake the seeds. I went and took my drug test yesterday morning for my new job. I don't do drugs, but let's hope I pass since I already gave my notice at work.

I made a large purchase last weekend and bought myself a nice dining set. It set me back a little but what the hell, my credit card debt is climbing anyway. At least I'll have it for a long time, and won't have to eat off the floor.

I'm moving into my new apartment this weekend, exactly one week before I leave for 10 days to go to Hawaii. Then when I come back, I immediatly start my new job. I'm going to be crazy busy trying to get everything together. I still have to find where I packed everything so I can unpack it then repack it for my vacation.

Also appears that I am without a roommate because the landlords took entirely too long to get the apartment ready. Awesome. So if anyone knows of anyone who is looking, please point them my way. The sooner the better!

YAY! [October 19, 2005]

I GOT THE JOB!!!

Only two more weeks of Market Masters-Legal, then I'm off to Hawaii for two weeks (which MML has to pay me for), then I start working at General Dynamics in Westfield.  The pay is better, it's closer to home mile-wise, and the benefits are awesome.  I have to go take a drug test and pass a background check, but I'm not too worried about that.  They also want to fly me to Dallas for a week to train out there.  I'm just so psyched to finally be getting out of this place!!!

Geek Squad Alert: I bought the new Ashlee Simpson CD today.

I had one crazy weekend! [October 18, 2005]

Friday morning I went on my interview at the avionics place.  I was expecting to meet with three people individually, but it wound up being four people interviewing me simultaneously.  I was really surprised at how well I answered all their questions.  I was also given a tour of the facility and got to go inside one of the corporate jets they were working on.  They do all the service and maintenance of the jets there.  It was awesome!  It was like a $49 million airplane.  I apparently did so well at my interview that two of the guys called me for a conference call last night to ask me a few more questions.  One of them was in Las Vegas while on the call.  I think that went pretty well also, so I should be hearing back either way by the end of the week.  Keep your fingers crossed for me!  It looks like an awesome company to work for.  The place in Westfield employs about 120 people, and they have great benefits, 401k and profit sharing.  I'd be doing administrative work and also editing proposals for the sales team.

Saturday, after bringing the trash to the dump, going to JC Penney to get another sweater while they're still on sale, and moving my stove into the apartment, Kenny and I drove out to Boston.  He stayed in Brighton with Durken, and they drove me to Rozlynn's place in Boston.  Her place is so cute, but it's crazy small for $1100/month.  We took showers and got ready, then hiked to the T.  I am so out of shape and not used to walking at all.  She took me by BU to see her campus, then we got a free ride on the T because the change booth was closed and we only had $20 bills.  We only went up one stop anyway.  We were going to eat at a place called the Summer Shack, but it was over an hour wait, so we wound up at Croma on Newbury Street.  Roz's friend Sarah Baker from home and boyfriend and his friends met us for dinner there.  After that, Roz and I went to Ned Devine's in Faneuil Hall.  That place is so huge!  It was so crowded, and so much different from the little Springfield bars I'm used to going to.  The band was awesome, and I fell in love with their lead singer.  He looked like Heath Ledger, lol.  All Roz's BU classmates were there (half of them were foreign), and they kept buying me drinks.  I wound up only spending $15 the whole night, including dinner.  We even got a free cab ride home from Roz's friend she knew from college, even though his friend Billy kept trying to hook up with me the entire ride.  Haha!  But yeah, it was a blast!

I was so hung over on Sunday, and so was Kenny.  When him and Durken picked me up, it took us an hour to drive 10 mins. back to Brighton because of some stupid runners race.  They had all the streets blocked off.  It was terrible.  I had to drive Kenny home because he felt sick, but then we stopped at Boston Market on the highway and got a chicken pot pie that made us feel way better!  We went to the grocery store and got one of those rotisserie chickens and made homemade mashed potatoes and stuffing to go with it.  It was delicious.  I also finally got to stop and get pumpkins!!  I got two of them so I can carve them and bake the seeds.  Kenny is no fun and doesn't want to carve them with me, so I'm going to do it myself sometime soon.

I think that's all the interesting news I have to report for now.  Oh yeah, you know how they say everyone has a twin someone in the world?  I think I found mine!!

Rainy Days [October 11, 2005]
Despite the rain, I had a good long weekend. Saturday night I went out downtown with Rozlynn since she was home for the weekend. My brother and Kelly met up with us since Kelly turned 21 last week. It was pretty fun even though we got soaked on the walk back to the car, and we saw tons of people we knew. Sunday Kenny and I went to the Harvest Fair in Granville. I bought my mom a Christmas present at one of the vendors there, and found her and Bob a really cute antique lighthouse that holds a tealight. I gave it to them as a housewarming present because they have lots of lighthouse things in their new house. They had Kenny and I over for an awesome home-cooked meal on Sunday night.

I was supposed to go see "In Her Shoes" with Roz and Laura Sunday night, but they never told me what time they were going and wound up seeing it without me. Kenny went out with the guys and I stayed home by myself and went to bed. He called me at 2:30 in the morning because his car battery died in West Springfield on their way home, so I drove over and gave them a jump start with my brother's emergency roadside kit. After Kenny dropped Durken and Danny off at home, I met him back at his house and we wound up staying up and hanging out until 6 in the morning. So we slept in late on Monday. He took me to look at a '05 Grand Prix at Bertera in Westfield, but the sales guy was a big jackass and tried lying to us. He really pissed us both off. I think I'm just going to hang onto my car for a while longer. We walked around Walmart and bought Kenny a new battery for his car, then went grocery shopping at Big Y and bought tons of food. We cleaned Kenny's house because his brother (the slob) is away for two weeks, and Kenny made us a delicious roast beef for dinner. It was sooo good.

I don't know if anyone watches "Laguna Beach," but I'm addicted to it and feel so stupid for watching a bunch of rich high school kids. I love Lauren, but in next week's episode it shows her going on a date with Jason, who is not even that cute and has already hooked up with and played three other girls on the show. Why is she being so stupid?! That makes me mad!

Anyway, back to my shitty job. Which reminds me, I have an interview on Friday morning with a company called General Dynamics in Westfield. It's right by the airport. They manufacture airplane parts and stuff. It's for an administrative/marketing position.

Noooo! [October 5, 2005]
I heard on the radio this morning that Nick and Jessica were supposedly breaking up again. I refuse to believe it, though. I'm sure it's probably not true [again], but seriously I'll be heart broken if they get divorced. I'll have no faith in love or marraige. I know that sounds so stupid because they're just celebrities, but I love her and I love them together. They're like the ultimate cute couple. I watched every episode of Newlyweds, and yes, I believe they truly are in love and not acting.

Anyway, I've come to the realization that I like reading other people's journal entries, but don't really enjoy writing my own anymore. I don't know why, but I'm just sick of it. I still try to update once or twice a week when I have time.

Well, I'm off to conduct an interview. I'll write more later.

Busy, busy [September 26, 2005]
What a crazy weekend! Friday night I had dinner with the old crew from work, Laura, Roz and Jen. We are at a cajun place called Big Mamou's and it was BYOB, so we brought a couple bottles of wine. The food was really good, and it was nice to catch up. Then Kenny and I rented Exorcism, The Beginning. It was scary, but not as scary as I thought it would be. Saturday was the big move. I spent most of the day helping my mom and Bob move and unpack into their new house. I'm so sore and tired from it. Then I went to see my cousin Amy's new house. It's so cute and I'm so jealous. I want to be able to afford a house! Yeah right, in my dreams.

Kenny and I finally got to the Big E on Saturday night. We met up with Cooch and the crew, but didn't get to spend a lot of time with them. We also met up with my brother and Kelly and walked around with them for awhile. The four of us got this goofy charicature picture of us done to give my mom. It's so hilarious, I can't wait to post it on here. We froze our butts off. I couldn't believe how cold it was. After that, Kenny and I went to Westfield to see his brother's band. Three of his other brothers, and a bunch of people we know were there. I had an alright time, but I was too exhausted.

I quit cheering because I didn't really feel it was worth the time and money for me to continue. I feel bad, and hope the girls aren't too mad at me. I've never really quit at anything before, but I didn't quit because I couldn't handle it, just because I didn't really want to do it I guess. At least I quit at the beginning of the season, and not halfway through. I spent the better part of yesterday helping my mom unpack her kitchen. I brought over a dozen Mrs. Murphy's donuts. I haven't eaten a donut in forver, and they were soooo good. My brother and I also went for a ride to Target. Kenny was up helping his dad fix something on his house all day long, so being the good girlfriend I am, I bought us Debbie Wong's for dinner, and rented The Longest Yard to watch. It was a cute movie

I haven't done this many things in one weekend in a long time! I'm pooped.

What Your Underwear Says About You

It's important that your underwear doesn't offend anyone - in case you get in a car accident.

Family Fun for Everyone [September 20, 2005]
I just paid off my car insurance for the rest of the year. That's a good feeling.

This weekend was pretty busy with my grandmother's and brother's birthdays. Thursday night I went out with Brian and his friends for his 21st to Red Robin, then downtown. How scary is it that my little brother's friends can now buy me beer? I felt so old, like the mom. It was pretty fun for the most part, except that the only bar everyone could get into was so hot and loud. Plus, we were like minorities in there. Oh well, hopefully Bri had a good time.

Friday night Kenny and I had dinner at the Ivanhoe with his brother Eric and his girlfriend. Dinner was awesome, and we had fun. Then Kenny took me to see the Forty-Year-Old-Virgin. It was so funny. Saturday my mom and I went shopping at the Christmas Tree Shops for apartment stuff and I got some cute things. We should do one of those commercials where the ladies are like, "Oh this is cute! Oh that is so cute!" Haha. I'm going over to the apartment tonight to bring some more stuff up and see how the renovations are coming along.

Then we had my grandma's party. My cousin and his wife were there with their new baby, Sienna, and she was so beautiful and small. I loved holding her. Billy came down for the night, and me, him, Bri and our cousin Jay went out downtown for Bri's birthday again. It was good, we mostly just stayed outside at Fat Cat's. Sunday was family brunch at the Ivanhoe. It went surprisingly well with Bob and Donna and my parents all there. The food was awesome! Kenny and I went to the mall and he got a new cell phone finally. We each increased our plans to the 900 anytime minute one because we're sick of paying huge phone bills every month. I figure it will be worth it for me since I won't have a home phone at the apartment. I got some more things at Christmas Tree while we were there. Then we went grocery shopping and Kenny cooked up a really good pasta sauce for dinner.

That's pretty much it. I bought pretty green and light yellow yarn at Walmart today to start making an afghan for my place. Ooh and I watched the movie Constantine last night. It was freaky.
